De De Pyaar De 2 Box Office Day 4: Monday Dip for Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh Film

Box Office Update: ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ Takes a Dip on Monday

The much-anticipated sequel, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Gautami Kapoor, had a successful opening weekend, but Monday brought a slowdown. The film, directed by Anshul Sharma, opened to a strong start, earning a substantial amount on its first day. However, the usual Monday dip in collections was evident, with a noticeable drop in revenue.

On the second day, the film saw a 40% growth, raking in Rs 12.25 crore. This positive trend continued on Sunday, with a 12.24% increase, resulting in a collection of Rs 13.75 crore. The total collection so far stands at a respectable Rs 34.75 crore. According to trade portal Sacnilk, the film’s net collection on Monday was estimated at ₹3.16 crore, pushing its domestic total to ₹37.91 crore.

Despite the Monday dip, the film’s performance through the week will determine its long-term success. Critics have mixed opinions, with some praising R Madhavan’s performance but finding Ajay Devgn’s role underwhelming. The film’s worldwide collection reached ₹54.25 crore by the end of its opening weekend, surpassing other releases like ‘Thamma’, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, and ‘The Taj Story’.

‘De De Pyaar De 2’ currently holds the fourth position in the box office rankings, with ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ leading the way, followed by ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ and ‘Bad Newz’ in the top three spots. ‘Param Sundari’ rounds out the top five.

The film’s ability to maintain its audience’s interest throughout the week will be crucial to its overall performance and longevity in the box office.
